Callings is my debut solo record, created in the summer of 2021. The album is a dichord of improvisations for winds and electronics. Each track is an exploration of the way that acoustic sound and electric signal can meld and crash to create music that propels forward of its own volition, only requiring the slightest nudges and bumps to be kept on course.
Recording this album was an exercise in restraint and humility — allowing my instruments to be a partner in improvising rather than merely a tool for creating.
